MR. EDGAR WASHIKA OCHIMA

Managing Partner

Holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Law from The University of Nairobi and is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya. He was admitted to the Bar in 2014.  Mr. Washika specializes in Commercial Law and litigation including contractual claims, debt recovery, employment disputes, Insurance Claims as well as Constitutional and Judicial Reviews. He has previously worked at Masika & Koross Advocates.

Mr. Washika has acted for a wide array of clients in different capacities before various courts and tribunals across the country in disputes revolving around judicial review and administrative law, constitutional law, employment and labour relations, land and environment law, and insurance law. He is currently a member Law Society of Kenya in good standing.

KEY ROLES:

  • Acted for the Kenya Medical Practitioners, Pharmacists and Dentists Union in the longest industrial action in Kenyan history.
  • Acted for a landlord in an Arbitration proceeding over prime lake front property in Naivasha valued at over Kshs. 100,000,000 currently occupied by a top tier hotel.
  • Currently acting for a regional architectural firm in debt collection for debts of over Kshs. 50,000,000.
  • Jointly with Mr. Wafula successfully prosecuted a matter against a state department with a judgment in favour of our client for Kshs. 221,000,000.
  • Transaction Advocate in a joint venture for the construction of a mall in Nairobi with an estimated value of over Kshs. 400,000,000.
  • Jointly with Mr. Wafula successfully prosecuted a matter against a government ministry with a judgment in favour of our client for Kshs. 3,000,000,000.

Mr. Washika’s support for A.F.C. Leopards Sports Club and Manchester United Football Club has taught him resilience in the face of adversity.
